The following is a statement from Bob Schoneberger, a representative of Minnesotans for Line 3, in response to Administrative Law Judge (ALJ) Ann O’Reilly’s recommendation to the state Public Utilities Commission on April 23 regarding the Enbridge Line 3 Replacement Project.

“This is an important day and step forward for Minnesota and our state’s economy. Judge O’Reilly’s decision and the data she has reviewed reaffirms what we have all known for years. This pipeline is important today, will continue to be long into the future, and clearly should be replaced. The data clearly shows that it makes sense to replace Line 3 without any of these conditions.

While we agree on the need to replace Line 3, we disagree about her opinion to replace the pipeline along the current route. The data and facts show that using the current route is a different project than what has been proposed, studied and what the ALJ agrees needs to happen. Minnesotans for Line 3 asks that the Public Utilities Commission corrects the outcome and approves the Line 3 Replacement Project using the proposed route.”
