Today’s news about the permit shows how complex and important the permitting process is for this project.  We were not surprised about the decision because the water quality permit cannot be issued until additional work is done to update the EIS.  We are hopeful that the PUC will take steps to keep things moving when it meets next week.  Line 3 is the most studied and reviewed pipeline project in our state’s history and Minnesota’s environment and economy needs this project more than ever.
